Then some more time passed...

I wasn’t satisfied enough with the chair shot, but I was satisfied with how easy it was to multiply objects that I only had one of. So, instead I wanted to see what it would take to make a small little army of soldiers. I have a phone stand (acting as a sci-fi barricade), my single K2SO figure (photographed in multiple poses, at different distances to the camera), and an old photo I took at the Salt Flats that looked very sci-fi. Oh, and then I had a bunch of spare time. That helped. Here is the video of me clicking off all the layers to make this image work. Not pictured is the hours of cutting our and repositioning all of the characters.

This is the final image.

…And this is essentially every single photo that went into the final composite.

And this is what it takes to bring it all together.

Get Bored. Make more chairs.

Make some stuff, what are you doing? I was watching a lot of the show Hoarders, and judging my own life lately. So I decided to transform my life into my own personal version of a hoarder. I liked this chair. I found this chair in a dumpster—true story. So I played with placing it in different places, and simply cutting it out in every shot. And just for giggles, I change one of the photos to be the photo of the whole scene.

And here is the final posted image. My mom thought I was a hoarder, LOL.

IT IS CRAZY. JUST CRAZY.

Growing up cameras were a big damn deal. You needed a little bit of know-how, a little bit of technical prowess, and most importantly FILM. I just upgraded my phone to a Google Pixel 7 (first upgrade since my Pixel 4; and don't get me started as to 'why aren't you on an iphone?’), and this little bug shoots some damn decent photos for being an every-day-carry that is always in my pocket. I mean, c’mon. What I lack in resolution and length of lens I make up for in all the TOOLS and availability at my fingertips. The idea that I can shoot; do a decent edit; and share it with the world in a matter of seconds is truly mind boggling. Here are some random shots from around town, photographed mere minutes ago. We have infinite creativity at our fingertips. Go make something, dummy.

All pictures taken and edited and posted from my phone. I mean, seriously, there are no excuses for visual artists not to be making shit constantly. Go make something. Stop reading and go.
